About Paola Lombardi
My name is Paola, I am 22 years old and I come from Livorno. I recently graduated in Fashion Design, a path that allowed me to explore my creative side and deepen my passion for fashion. During my studies, I developed a strong interest in sustainability and innovation in the industry, with the idea of promoting a positive impact on our environment through responsible design. My vision focuses on combining aesthetics and functionality in an ethical manner, using eco-friendly materials and planet-friendly practices. Fashion is not only personal expression, but also a form of awareness, and I firmly believe that it is possible to create beautiful yet sustainable garments. Outside the studio, I like to immerse myself in artistic activities and travel to broaden my view of the world. My goal is to contribute to a future where fashion evolves in a more conscious and environmentally friendly way.
My work
The project I decided to present is a ‘GOODSOUP’ capsule collection composed of six unique outfits, inspired by the theme of food and its connection with sustainability. In this project, food becomes the protagonist not only as a source of nourishment, but also as a raw material for design. The dyes and patterns of each garment are created using colours derived from natural foods such as turmeric, coffee and cabbage, which not only offer a vibrant and organic palette, but are also completely biodegradable and safe for the environment.
In terms of materials, I chose innovative and sustainable fabrics, such as hemp and mint satin, bamboo twill and organic cottons, which evoke a direct connection to nature and sustainability. The use of food-grade fabrics not only enhances the ecological aspect of the collection, but also emphasises the possibility of enhancing unconventional materials.
The style of the collection is inspired by the 1960s, with a modern reinterpretation of iconic shapes and silhouettes from that era. The textures and patterns are designed to recall the aesthetics of the period, while the natural tones and shades give a feeling of freshness and authenticity. Each outfit tells a story of sustainability and creativity, combining past and future in a perfect balance of innovation and tradition.
This capsule collection is my tribute to a future of fashion that respects our planet, where beauty and sustainability come together harmoniously.
